PLANNING TO STUDY ABROAD?

Many students have the dream of doing their M.S or M.Tech abroad after their B.tech in India.
The factors that make foreign education so much desirable are:
  • Better (best) quality of educational services.
  • Exposure to global cultures, corporate world, better opportunity for research.
  • Better lifestyle, better job opportunities and pay.
  • Prospects of migrating to a better country.
Here I will give an outline about how to plan and make your dream come true.

STEP1: Select the country.
As for now let us consider the U.S, U.K and Australia as possible destinations. The style of education and life differs much in these countries. But they can be seen as three categories of possible destinations.
U.S
U.S is home to the worlds best engineering universities. In most universities, classes are held 3-4 days a week. You can work for the rest of the time. (Subject to immigration rules.) This means you get lots of time to study as well.
U.K
U.K also has some good universities. But the educational system in U.K is getting highly privatized these days. U.K universities follow a much hectic schedule of 5 days a week classes from morning to evening.  You can work in between if you can manage it.
European Countries.
Many European universities are at the forefront of technological education and research. But the problem with studying in one is that, they all conduct most courses in their mother tongue and its mandatory that foreign students take up the language as a paper during the first year of their studies.
STEP II: Starting  the application process.

While you wait for the results:
  • Prepare for IELTS or TOEFEL.
  • Search for good universities and courses.
  • Talk to people who did M.S outside India.

As soon as your results are out, do the following:

  • Get your course and conduct certificates from your college.
  • Get the necessary transcripts (A transcript is a document from your university (not college) specifying the papers you had, your marks etc) from the university.
  • Get some good reference letters from reliable professors and other good contacts.

STEP III: Selecting your University.
MAKE USE OF THE FOLLOWING GUIDES FOR SELECTING YOUR UNIVERSITY:
